Action Committee – Alternatives

A group of people interested in examining options for the future survival of the Sacred Heart community is starting to get organized.   Some of these options will include working with other committees.   None of these questions or options have fixed answers, but the alternatives should be researched to find their implications.

  1. Purchasing the church property and establishing an independent church owned by the members of the Sacred Heart community
    1. Explore how to stay “Catholic”, or whether the community will be allowed to do so.
    2. How would Sacraments be done (baptism, first communion, confirmation, matrimony, confession) if not part of the Boston Archdiocese ?
    3. Is it an acceptable option to separate the faith community from the Boston Archdiocese ?
  2. Purchasing or renting an alternate property, or renting space from a local Temple, just as Jews rented space in churches in many areas before they built their own Temple.
  3. Exploring other ways for this faith community to stay together, even if the doors to the buildings were locked and the property sold.

If you are interested in joining these discussions please do send an email to alternatives@sacredheartappeal.org  to contact the committee members.

Please do use these email mailboxes to:

1.      Offer support (time, talent, treasure) to that committee,

2.      Offer suggestions or information if you have information resources that can help that committee, or to

3.      Contact the committee to discuss that topic in more detail.

Thanks for helping !   Every bit helps us move the effort forward, and many hands make light work.
