2004-11-20 Saturday – Dinner at Parish Hall, details to follow.   Call Parish Office for reservations.

2004-11-19 Friday 7:30pm Prayer Vigil at Sacred Heart, to celebrate “Music and Memories”

2004-11-16 Tuesday 7:00pm Prayer Service at Sacred Heart Lexington, in Church to be followed by
            7:30pm regular appeal/ vigil/ planning meeting to discuss recent events and how to proceed.

2004-11-14 Sunday,  Fr. Colletti and Leadership Council decide:

1) We will proceed with Friday Memory Celebration           

2)
We will proceed with Saturday’s dinner in the parish hall

Letters from parishioners stating their position whether we want more time, to be sent to Fr. Colletti by email to
extension@sacredheartappeal.org, or leave a note at the parish office.  Fr. Colletti indicated when he met with the Leadership Council on Saturday afternoon that he wanted the feedback even after we knew our closure date was rescinded.  Your Letters Are Still Needed.

4) In Addition: 
letters from parishioners to assist Archbishop O’Malley in making his decision -- “A new closing date will be decided after further consultation” – we should give him all the help we can so he makes the right decision, and keeps us open permanently.  The Leadership Council will prepare a letter from the Sacred Heart community.  Individual letters are encouraged also, and if you give us permission to do so please also mail it to
webmaster@sacredheartappeal.org and we can post them on the appeal web site to share our thoughts and suggestions.   Your Letters Are Needed.

5) Preparations for the Vigil that would have started November 21st, after the last mass, will be discussed during Tuesday night’s meeting Nov 16th,
7:30pm after the 7pm prayer service.   Some activities may go ahead as planned, others may not be needed right away.  Come join us and help us work out the details.

2004-10-17 Sunday after 10am mass Don Pachuto of St Susanna (Dedham) will talk about Senator Marian Walsh’s bill to require financial accountability from all charitable organizations, including churches.    A letter from Senator Walsh explains.  Additional information available here.

2004-10-16 Two Closings Postponed St Bernard (Newton) and St Mary of the Angels (Roxbury) both scheduled to be closed in October, have had their closure postponed. 

2004-10-15 Mount Carmel deal confusion:  “a spokeswoman for the archdiocese said that no promises had been made to have Masses said at the convent.” Then “''it is expected that Mass will be celebrated" in the convent's chapel” results in prayer vigil at Mt Carmel.

2004-06-08, Tuesday.   Reprieve for Our Lady of Presentation School.   BostonGlobe article.

Our Lady Help of Christians in Concord (www.olhc.org) sent their own appeal letter.   

2004-06-06,  Sunday   Parishioners write letters and sign petitions.  Save Sacred Heart signs distributed.

2004-06-03, Thursday.  Appeal letter sent.

2004-06-02  Wednesday.   Our web site is up over 4000 hits in less than 2 days. 

 

2004-06-01 Tuesday evening, 7:30pm,

Meeting in the parish hall to finalize the letter of appeal and get final signatures.  If personal letters from parishioners are available either by email or on paper, this is likely to be the deadline for inclusion with the appeal letter.   Even if a personal statement or letter is not included with the appeal letter, letters can be sent at a later date.
