Setting up video and audio for movies

Setup audio and video for movie night during Lent -

To show the movie you will need several piece parts:
1. the DVD of the movie (duh)

2. a video player. there is a cart where both the DVD player and the projector below are housed.

3. a video projector to throw the video on the screen. the one on the cart has an HDMI (high def connector and cable) connection between the DVD player and the projector. NOTE: the SONY projector requires that you push the power button TWICE to turn the lights on and off.

4. audio connection to house speakers so you can hear – parish hall is big enough that small speakers are (almost) useless. one of the parts of the attached video shows the power switch to the house audio setup.

Note: the house audio has several “XLR” type connectors to hook up microphones and other sound sources (e.g. video players, ipods, etc) to play over the speakers around the hall.

To convert the DVD player “audio out” to the house system, there is a silver cylindrical converter that converts the RCA (red and white) connectors to the XLR (3 pin mic connector).

Lent decoration change (purple to red)

Switching over from purple to red, click picture below for bigger picture -

had some extra small palms, attached to aisle seats with elastics at top and wire at bottom.

WiFi comes to Sacred Heart parish hall.

WiFi is now available in both the main parish hall and in the office for general access. Initially the SSID’s and keys are:
Main hall: SSID=sh5g key=21FollenRoad
Main hall: SSID=sh24g key=21FollenRoad
Office: SSID=sh-hall-wifi key=f1e2d3c4b5

The keys will be updated periodically. To get the current settings, please send an email to shhallwifi@gmail.com and you should get a reply with any new or updated settings. If your cell phone can send messages to email this should work also. If you have any questions or problems, please send an email to shhallwifi@gmail.com and we will help where possible.

Comcast just completed installing the cable internet service at the parish hall. The ssid is temporarily set to sh-hall-wifi, and the key to start using the service is something I will mail out to you in reply to your email – I will periodically change the settings, so if the key has been updated, just send an email to shhallwifi(at)gmail.com.
